A Motivational Alternative

Motives On Tap 52

Had a current run of bad situations come my way recently.
But yet I'm still here. Still standing tall. And still got that smile.

What's going on people? Hope everything is grand...if not, then just take it day by day because great things lie ahead for you.

Just got to believe in that.

Back to the post at hand! Here's an On Tap about expressing yourself...

It's On Tap number...(Drum Rolls)...

Good Times

Don't We All?
Don't just stand there.
Go Have a Good Time.
You Deserve It.

Couldn't help but take a lyric out of one my favorite songs, "Sing For The Moment" by Eminem, when it was shuffled onto my now playing selection on my iPod.

This song has gotten me through some low points and stressful chapters through my story. If you haven't heard it...I strongly suggest a listen.

As you get that warmed up, here's number...

51.

Seize the moment try to freeze it and own it,
squeeze it and hold it.
'Cause we consider these minutes golden.

The V in V-Day Should stand for "Value"

Oh look...the most over-rated holiday of the year is here!

Whether you are celebrating Valentine's Day, Single Awareness Day, or as everyone should be calling it..Tuesday...I hope that it's going along swell.

I don't understand all the hype about this day on our calendar marked February 14th as the day of love. I seriously think it was made for women to have another holiday.

Ugg.

Personally, I believe this day has lost it's meaning a long time ago and with our society and media beating the dead horse into submission...might as well call it Tuesday.

You should not value your partner on one single day just because a calendar tells you that you should. You should be doing that 365 days a year. The true name of this holiday I think should be called Value Day.

Because on this day we should celebrate those few close to us as to how much we value them. You shouldn't have to buy a gigantic box of chocolates or the most expensive vase of flowers to show that.

No, you should celebrate Value Day EVERYDAY.

How so?

Just simply telling a partner that you love them daily is valuable.
Spending time lounging on the couch together watching something stupid on TV is valuable.

Walking around in public together is valuable.

Working out together...valuable.

Going to the movies...valuable.
Talking about your problems...valuable.
Being in the same room...valuable!

See what I'm getting at?

If you make time to spend some of your valuable time when you could be at work, studying, hanging with other people, and other activities just to spend time with the one you love...that says something.

A ring, flowers, chocolate, and other items may be nice...but I would rather take time to spend with a partner doing something then any item anyday.

I'm not saying don't give someone a gift; God no! That's the last thing you probably want to do...especially if you have a female partner (heads up lucky fellas!) But don't go overboard and putting more emphasis on how much you spent on the gift than the value of it.

Because let's face it, we all like shinny things. Oohhh...shiny things!

You shouldn't value the items that your partner gives you on this day.

You should value your partner, close friends, and family that you cherish and love so much.

Not just on this day we call Valentine's Day. But everyday.

Happy V-Day.

Cheers To The Homecoming Weekend

Phew.

I'm exhausted on a Sunday...a Super Bowl Sunday that is. But I have a good excuse for this; it's called Homecoming Saturday at VCU.

Had an excellent time with friends and close ones along with about 5,000 Ram fans as we celebrated and cheered on the Rams in Siegel to another victory. From grilling outside, eating on the balcony, to drinking...quite a lot, and even busting out some rounds of cornhole.

This weekend has been quite excellent.

Hoping that people were able to celebrate another weekend coming and in about 12 hours leaving us. I'm very thankful that I was able to have some fun this weekend. And I'm pretty sure they enjoyed my company...especially with me being a Designated Driver later that night as we evacuated the dancefloor downtown.

A very eventful weekend for myself indeed.

Now for some Sunday Chilling.
BTW...go referees and commercials!

Ttyl. Cheers.

What's up people!

Hope everything is going your way this week thus far; it has been a rather fun last couple of days thus far for myself.

A mixture of work hours, school hours, and some entertainment hours has kept me on the sunny side of things thus far. Speaking of sunny side...I could use some eggs right now.

Yum. Alright...guess I got to get the frying pan.
