Moternative

A Motivational Alternative

MotiTunes!: Memories

Just jammin' on a weekend...crankin' up the volume just a bit louder and such lol.

Hey people! I'm currently chillin' on a bed typing up this new entry while rockin' to an old song that I found in my iTunes library of awesomeness that I thought I should share the Interwebs.

As you know, I love music. If music was a woman...well I don't want to get too carried away with that...so movin' on.

I am a huge fan of dance and hip-hop and found myself in a dance club music type of mood today. So to satisfy my music taste, I scrolled around in my library and started listening to this song called "Memories" by David Guetta featuring Kid Cudi.

It has a good beat that makes you want to move and groove. Not that kind of movin' and groovin'...on the dancefloor fool! (Slap!) Coming from David Guetta's album, One Love, it's one of those hidden gems you find in a full album but once you listen to it...you are glad to find it.

Now ironically for myself, I'll being seeing Kid Cudi perform later tonight (fist pumps in the air!) so that should a fun time for sure!

Been a great weekend thus far...got some sleep, got some drinks, got some food, got some laughs, got some fun, and got some memories.  Love it.

Another addition to the Moternative Library awaits!!!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend! AND...

Let the memories continue...

All the crazy s#!t I did tonight,
those will be the best memories.
I just wanna let it go for the night,
that would be the best therapy for me.

Don't Quit, Keep Going.

Busy is an understatement...

Listening to "They Come Back" by Project Lionheart as I sit hear awaiting my professor to come to start my 3rd class of the day...out of 5. Yeah...I'm crazy.

But still here. No quitting, move forward.

What does it take to be one step closer to your dreams?
Does it mean everything in between?
Where are you right now and where you want to be.
Must suffer for the cause like it ought to be.
Me against the world and apostrophes.
You look around like ain't nothing stopping me.
This is my time, my choice.
Like the whole damn world gotta hear my voice.

MotiTunes!: Rains

You know a song is really good when you listen to it on repeat for 2 straight hours.
Or is that just me? If so, I might have a problem...

But Rains solves it with this great song called "Look In My Eyes".

I know you're waiting and you're so damn nervous
I know you're hoping that I could explain this
Look in my eyes
I will try and show you

Rains is a independent rock band coming out of the state of Indiana in 2000. However, they didn't really get that much recognition on the bigger stage until 2009 when their debut album, Stories, was released. Since then they have gotten some airtime on the radio and an awesome opportunity to open the North American Share the Welt Tour in 2011.

When I listened to "Look In My Eyes" for the 1st time out of the 87 times I played it on repeat consecutively (Yes, I'm being serious!) I was blown away in every sense of those two words.

How did you want me to feel
when I see you trying
Trying so hard to fit in
To the world you are buying

Listening to the lyrics come off the microphone through the speakers and into my ears is nothing short of incredible and moving. Mix that with a great combination of not-so-heavy guitar riffs, bass, and drums and you got a great piece of art you're listening to.

I love it.
Hence why I'm now currently listening to this song on play-through number 91. ;)

Their debut album is available now and I'm taking a serious consideration of getting a copy after being so impressed hearing their first song on Stories. Definite a recommendation from me if you are looking for some good rock n roll to add to your music library.

And...it will be added to the MotiTunes! Library when you return for your listening pleasure!

I know you're thinking that you should have been there
I know you're thinking that no one cares
Just look in my eyes
I will try and show you

New week, new opportunities.
Go for it!

Motives On Tap 57

I blame my Wrestlemania hangover for this entry haha.
But after hearing it on the mic from John Cena, I had to share it.

Because I think it is a very motivational quote from the guy. He is one of the most entertaining professional wrestlers ever and has transcended the industry to new heights in the WWE. The guy stares hatred in the face every single day from fans around the globe; sometimes in hostile environments wanting his head on a platter.

However, here he stands. Happy to be there, with a smile on his face.

Which is what people need to learn how to do...rise above hate.

57...

I do what the T-shirt says.
I rise above.
And here's the kicker...

I rise above and I win.
