"You cannot run from this- it will follow you. It may lay dormant for years. Something may trigger it to become more active and it may over time reach out to communicate with you." -The Psychic, Paranormal Activity
So my friends and I decided to go to a midnight showing of Paranormal Activity 2. I'm not really a fan of movies that attempt to scare me or make me jump out of my seat...unless they do a really good job of doing it of course.
Which lead me to this random thought of mind: People need a little bit of freight in order to have fun.
Let me explain...this thought has something to do with our current holiday around the corner which just so happens to be Halloween. The time of year where people go find a costume from vampires to zombies to Little Red Riding Hoods to french maids and have a good time spreading dread and fear around the dark, grim streets on Halloween night.
Fun right? OF COURSE IT IS!
I've yet to find someone that doesn't like dressing up and going to neighbors houses dressed up as Freddy, Micheal Myers, or any member of the walking dead for free candy and a good time! Especially kids...kids do love free candy. Mmmm...Snickers and Milky Ways.
Even teens and young adults get in the action on the 31st. Hosting house costume parties with everything from hippies to ballerinas to Wolfman. Tunes blasting, dancing the night away while doing the Thriller dance for the 12th time that night. It never gets old.
Halloween is great because we basically act like alter-egos and spread fear to those that we come in contact with and they usually give a good scream or chuckle, not the regular mean grin or evil eye if it was a regular Wednesday morning.
Whether you like leaving blood on glasses, spiders in the fruit punch bowl, or a human limb on someone's shoulder...fear is great, especially when it's good clean fun with the local Ghostbusters unit on Main St.
Enjoy your Halloween Folks!!! Watch out for that zombie coming out the pipes...no seriously, it's gonna grab your leg.
P.S. Paranormal Activity 2 was meh...good movie with a weak ending and some Holy Shnikes! moments that will have you freak out like a adolescent teenager on Prom Night. :)
