Another hazy evening, at least this one is a tad warmer from previous.

Smell of asphalt, whips, nature, and canvas.

Thankfully I got today off, kind of needed an escape.

Plus it’s nearly the weekend, so things can wait.

Cruising around, enjoying the sights and sounds.

Beating myself up for forgetting my camera…again.

Such a forgetful klutz I be at times.

Thankfully Roz has his backup equipment. Saved by the flash.

People turning their heads, eyebrows raised and all.

It’s as if they’ve seen some outside species or something.

Confuse about all the stares of…well confusion.

I’m just having fun, return the eyebrow to ground level.

My version of fun may be frowned upon by others.

They’re turned to smiles as I go airborne.

Just a dude caught in the wind and trying to be fancy.

What? I don’t need a skateboard to do tricks.

Skateboarding was my past love, it was hard breakup.

I may not be able to shred down halfpipes,

Or jump vert ramps with ease.

But I’m still able to have fun with just 2 wheels.

They’re 5 times the size of the standard deck wheels

And they’re two of them instead of the regular four.

But I still need to push them to gain speed,

While wildin’ out in the air for a big score.

It might not be a “socially accepted” activity for my state

I could care less for what others think.

As long as my friends and I enjoy ourselves,

That’s all that matters right?

Not a real fan of the automatics, I prefer a manual.

Gives me more speed as I push the chair down the ramp.

Yes, helmet is on. Better safe than sorry.

Don’t want to end up in worse state than my permanent leg cramp.

It’s quite a rush seeing the sky from upside down,

And also hearing people clapping as you land.

This is my passion, won’t end til’ my heart goes flat.

Not even a life-threatening situation will stop that.

I was in a candy mood when writing this one lol...

I'm considered a sweet and sour
One who's flavor changes via the hour
Never a permanent flavor
But always ready to devour.

There's things that society counts as bad.
Like Chocolate deluxe, XL Sour Skittles, and Heartbreaker Jawbreakers.
Ignoring the warnings and the labels on back
Biting into the goodness like it's a 100 calorie Kit Kat.

Enjoying my sugar high as I went in for more.
Before the manager shuts his doors to close.
War Heads, Toxic Waste, and a few big Hunks.
The manager awaited patiently until I blew chunks.

He was amazed that I was still alive.
And I kept a steady pace.
Eating through waves of sugar as if it's a race.
If it was...7.38 minutes away from first place

Took a little break and decided to drink a Yoohoo.
While making a taste blueprint for Round 2
Not a fan of the Long Boys, Rock, and Coffee Rio.
So went in deeper to look for a delicious trio.

Surrounded by massive shelves of different candies.
To reach...Probably needed a ladder beside me.
Similar to being in a sticky situation as this.
Is the life that I seemed to miss.

Locking yourself in a vault trying nothing new
Is like eating Life Savers from 1982.
A little spice of variety now and then
Can max your sugar high to 10.

Varieties of candies is involved with life.
It's up to you to taste and see if you like.

This is exactly what I am doing right now today.

Today was a rather enjoyable day of life for me. Nothing really special or extravagant such as having a party or going on a cruise or even stopping somewhere special for a quick bite. Nope...just a regular day on my part.

I can;t really explain my overwhelming happiness. I guess because it's mine personally. You ever have those days when you just go with the flow of the day and your just bursting with energy? Yeah...that would be what my day felt like. Of course, there were a few bumps in the road now and there but I overcame those and continued rolling on.

Happiness can come from anything and I believe people lost the touch of this statement. It can come from the hustle of your work routine, running on the treadmill to burn your satisfied calories limit, or even just walking down the street enjoying the rays of the sun. Happiness can come from anywhere!!!

I just wanted to express that in order to become happy, you have to BE HAPPY. What does this mean? It means what it says...BE. Pause. HAPPY! You have to go for your happiness and keep it in a headlock so it can stay longer at some periods of times when it just wants to leave you for a few days.

Run a marathon, listen to your iPod, play a video game to beat the high score, make a cake, drive around the city, play that guitar, draw a masterpiece, rap over a beat. Mainly...just do you.

Happiness is all around you. What will you do to make yourself happy?

The Kill

Listening to The Game's new mixtape "Purp & Patron" motivated me to write this poem. Especially listening to the track called "The Kill" was the main reason I started writing this at 2 in the morning. But here's the poem.

Put down the drink and put away the auto.

It’s the thought in your mind talking to you for a second.

Take the bullets out the chamber and look clear.

You’re creative mind is the primary weapon.

Instead of following the swarm, become the leader.

Make your own path, don’t act like a fake Bieber.

All dreams can become reality with a brain that ticks,

Don’t become the one that’s easily tricked.

Opportunities varied and some won’t even stop for you.

That doesn’t mean a drive-by is what should do.

Taking that gun and going POW POW!

Won’t make your peers and community say WOW.

Well maybe it will but for the wrong reasons,

They will despise you and lock you up for 20 seasons.

You’re pissed and delete my Facebook and Twitter.

So be it…I won’t cry over that P.O.S. neither.

People are in different situations, some got it easier than others.

Anyone can become the next MLK, Jay-Z, or Diesel.

They used brain power and struggled to the top.

Of course it wasn’t pretty but they never fully flopped.

Hustle is a part of life, don’t look at life from the view of Patron.

If you continue down that path, you’ll leave this rock alone.

Put down the blunt and don’t ask for my light.

I’ve thrown my out to the demons of the night.

They’re waiting for their next meal and that means you.

Sitting here wailing over what you can’t do.

As long as your breathing and have a bloody pulse,

Life ain’t over and you should be on step 2.

What will you do with your mind now?

Instead of counting drugs, sad, and body bags.

Turning that to love, fun, and green.

Making dreams and living like you never had.

People want to be in your shoes.

They wished they had a second chance.

It was too late for them, they’re six feet deep.

Wishing they were here with these words I speak.

If you never heard my mouth, you should listen now.

I don’t have answers like what, when, why, and how.

This ain’t soul searching talk, this is common sense.

Use your mind instead of waiting at the fence.

Life come and goes, but remembrance is forever.

Will you be one of those trend setters?

One of the ones that moved the bar up?

Or one that fell and stayed in the muck.

So I was in my office when I stepped out to walk around the Media Center and just happen to pass by my business manager and good friend, Lauren, at her office.

She was showing my friend and general manager, Mike, this video of a NFL Playoff promo that reenacted the legendary Packers coach Vince Lombardi and one of his moving motivational speeches.

I liked the performance put on by this actor. He looks and sounds like the Hall of Famer and the words he expressed in the promo was incredible and moving.

Work Hard. Work Hard out there....that's how you do it.

Enjoy The Ride

People are always looking for the perfect getaway, the grand escape, or just something to distract from the main drag that life brings on the daily basis.

One of my student co-workers judged me because I didn't know what I wanted to do for a career in college. She basically thought I was stupid for attending college if I didn't have a blueprint of what I was getting out of the experience job wise.

What I say to that? Enjoy yourself.

Don't always been tense and always looking over your shoulder as if your about to be taken out of the picture. At times you just need to go with the flow of whatever the day brings you and put a smile on your face.

For me this is easier than stated since I'm a college kid. I don't know what I want to do in college and the advisors and tips from others have not really helped me out at all. My GPA isn't a standout since I'm not great when it comes to bookwork and exams but I've increased it bit by bit. My social life isn't similar to the one usually seen on primetime on MTV but I have one at least.

Now 90% of the world's population would freak out in my situation since everyone wants to go the straight and narrow. You want to go college, grab your papers, and grow up. Me...not so much. I like taking my days one at a time because that we as people are in a rush to grow up too fast instead of enjoying the thrills and spills life gives us at our current age.

It's not that hard to do. I love coming to my radio station and just hanging out while getting work done and talking on air about the latest information regarding videogames. Which is called 32BiT...details on the Twitter link. Hi-Yo! Self Advertising!!! lol

Yes, I might not have the life that I wanted but I'm enjoying it currently with what I have offered to me. A chance to explore college life and to find a career, working at a college radio station, working at Level 1 Trauma Hospital, and hanging out with a variety of people that I never thought I would socialize with.

I enjoy random moments in life as a young adult who just celebrated another year of life recently; That was a blessing in itself. Instead of going on the strict path that people wanted me to go, I decided to do a U-turn. Yeah...I may regret it sometimes since I might have graduated by now but I'm enjoying my situation that I'm in right now. The future is bright so why rush into something that will consume my efforts for the rest of my work career? Just doesn't make sense.

Don't rush your life. You will definitely miss some gifts on the way. Just kick back and enjoy the ride. You have plenty of miles til you reach your destination.
