A Motivational Alternative

Motives On Tap 56

Cheers to the Weekend, Cheers to the Weekend.

Been a rather busy couple of days ending this week of fun and academic success. After a few tests, papers, and lectures later...I finally reached the end of the week. Woot!

Things kicked off well with spending some time with friends that involved food, drinks, a porch, and Kings; never a bad combo on a Thursday night.

The fun should continue with myself getting ready to run a 10k on Saturday and other sources of entertainment throughout the weekend.

You guys and gals take care of yourselves! And if it's as bea-UTIFUL as it is here in RVA, go out and enjoy it! I know I sure have this week and will continue to due so as such.

Had a blast last night at a Zac Brown Band concert!

1st time for me actually attending a country style music concert and it did not disappoint. I'm a fan of basically every music style if it sounds decent and this band right here sounded great.

Definitely worth the gas and money to see these guys live!

For this On Tap...decided to dedicate it to the Zac Brown Band from one of their songs.

Excellent show guys!
Have a great week people...I'll be doing a 2 step to "Chicken Fried" to kick things off lol.

55..

You keep your heart above your head and you eyes wide open.
So this world can't find a way to leave you cold.
And know you're not the only ship out on the ocean.
Save your strength for things that you can change,
Forgive the ones you can't
You gotta let 'em go.

It's a beautiful day in RVA!

So beautiful that I'm regretting wearing this hoodie of mine with all the sun rays coming towards me currently.

Hold on a sec.

(Unzips hoodie, places in bookbag)

There we go!

Now back to this On Tap. It's quite glorious outside currently here. Sun is shinning bright with a nice breeze and everything. Make your objective to go outside and enjoy the warmth if it's available to you today!

And if it's raining on your side of the Earth...make sure you have a raincoat! Don't want to get a case of pneumonia...

54..!

If your attitude is as bright as the sun, then your happiness will be as warm as the sunrays.
If your attitude is as stormy as heavy rain, then your happiness will be stuck in the mud.

So I took an extra 24 hours just pressing out the wrinkles in my wardrobe...there we go!
Alright, ready for action!!

Ahem! (Mic check 1,2...1,1,1...Ahem!...check, check!)

Good to go!

There is a lot of negativity surrounding us. I don't get why some people have a purpose in life to ruin someone else's day...and yet when they fail to do so, they get mad? Umm...okay. Go sit in the corner or something and let out the waterworks please, you're ruining my shoes.

Focus on not making the negativity affect you today. Try ignoring it; which might be difficult to due in your case. Or do what I usually do...laugh. No seriously! If I get insulted or someone gets on my last nerve for the 5th time, I will just chuckle out loud.

You would be amazed at the reaction of negativity if you just give out a good laugh or even a grin.

Don't let the darkness consume you. Enjoy your day!

And here's On Tap number....

The best way of removing negativity is to laugh and be joyous.

Refreshed & Renewed

Hey yo!

Decided to step away from blogging stuff and writing stuff for a little while and just focus on myself with taking some time off for a little get-away.

The get-away involved a gymbag full of clothes, shoes, toothbrush, deoderant, and a pair of swimming trunks and my little hamsterball calculating around 300 miles on a trip to Virginia Beach, VA. And let me just say...it was definitely nice to relax in the sun for awhile without a care in the world.

From laying out on the sand, dancing with the nightlife, sharing laughs with friends, and enjoying the variety of adult beverages coming my way...I feel renewed again with a new smile upgrade.

And as an extra bonus, VCU defeated Wichita State in the 2nd round! And let's just say there was a lot of celebration activities after that victory on the Boardwalk. ;)

But now I'm back to reality of work-loads and schoolwork taking over my routines yet again sadly. However, I'm not moody nor disappointed or stressed currently. And that's not a bad thing...it's a good thing!

So let me get back to the routine...secretly wish my break was just a wee bit longer but hey I'm thankful for getting a break regardless.

If you need take some time to step away from it all and get some wind in your sails, by all means do it. You will be thanking yourself from crashing down in the middle of a hectic day where you just can't take anymore.

See you guys and gals here in the future...i.e, in 24 hours or less for some good ol' Moternative literature. :P

Suicide. Why Even Go There?

I know it can be really tough on a person's physical and mental state on the daily but I refuse to see any good coming from taking your own life by your own hands as a way to escape everything.

Now-a-days when I look at the local news or even surf the web I always come across stories about someone taking their own life in a so called personal blaze of glory in the public eye. But seriously? I can't see a real reason why someone would do this...

Some reasons I've heard was because of bullying, lost of family member, relationship ending, lost of a job, lost of your own kid, best friend taken advantage of, and so on and so on. All of these...bad and I've heard worse reasons but you don't have to take your own life to ease the pain.

We all really don't know what's next for us after this life. This is not a religious uplifting to become a love-shouting Christian all of sudden so if you're looking for that...spoiler alert: Not happening. But I will say...I do believe in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit; that's my personal opinion and preference. And if you feel differently, that is your right as a human being. No judging from my perspective whether you agree with my beliefs, you're an Atheist, or believe in another one of many religions.

But anyway...hardships, heartbreaks, and basically the shitty moments do come to our life at somepoint. No sugarcoating...it sucks. But eventually with time willing, you will get pass it and move forward from that dark moment.

You don't need to slit your wrists over losing a job.
You don't need to shoot your brains out over a hearbreak.
You don't need to you hang yourself for being called a slut or whore.
You don't need to jump from a bridge over losing your mom or dad.

There's no need for that. I know this post is not going to change the world and make it suicide free but think about it. Why go through it when you don't even know what's going to happen next?

And as an extra bonus...if you fail at committing this act, then odds are you screwed up yourself and your future.

Times get tough.
Don't give up with your life because it's the easy way out.

Better days come toward those that live life through the good and bad parts of the story.
