A Motivational Alternative

Das Trio.

Allo Hello! Guess what day it is? Guess what day IT IS? No seriously guess...
It's Hump Day.

Whoop! Whoop!!

You should be feeling a tad bit more excited, energetic, and satisfied that Monday has come and gone. Now it's time to step our game up a little and go stupid, go stupid, go stupid (I Do It!). We have arrived at the midpoint so now let's keep our form straight, refuel, and go bonkers toward the finish line!

And here are a trio of quotes to help you with an extra speed boost!

"Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it."

-Bruce Lee

"If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours."

-Henry David Thoreau

"Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful."

-Albert Schweitzer

Now get out there and enjoy Hump Day!

Step Forward. (On Tap 106)

Allo Hello people of the interwebs and welcome to another Monday; Hold your applause.

After a very eventful weekend, I'm feeling a bit shaken but not stirred (Nice Bond reference ehh?). It was a crazy few days for yours truly but hey...I'm still standing; of course with a grin implanted upon my face. And on a bigger positive, USA won the CONCACAF Gold Cup!

MERICA!!!

Anywho...Monday has arrived at our front door once again and oh my goodness her knocks on the door are a little bit louder. I think she really wants our attention... If you're feeling down and in the dumps due to the weekend coming and going or you just had a bad string of days come your way, fret not for you are still here on this 3rd rock from the Sun.

Throughout all of the heartbreak, banter, drama, and bullshit you are still here on your two feet. You might not be all here mentally (not because of lack of brain power...) and emotionally right now however you can get back to a happier state of mind; and then power leap over that to become even more awesome; as long as you are breathing everyday is an achievement.

I did a little exercise in my limited time this weekend; I had 2 pieces of paper and wrote down things about myself. One paper was a past version of myself filled with emotions, events, thoughts, and other things that surrounded me and defined me as a person about 2 years ago. The other was the current version of myself with the same amount of information just in present day. After I wrote down everything (and man it was a lot...) I circled things on both the past and present versions of myself in paper form of what I thought were faults of mine. Once I finished, I read the past version of myself...

And then burned it.

The dark figures of the past will always be a part of us but it should not be the main focus of who we are as a people right here, right now. You can't always fix things in the past but you can manipulate things today to help you become better as a person and make a brighter future for yourself. Working with faults...that's what we do; looking back at the faults and misfortunes that I had back then and to stand here now with less of them shows what I am able to get over, fight with, and make better. I am human therefore I am not perfect; I still have my faults and ways that many people may not agree with...but at the end of the day they are mine.

And I'm completely okay with that.

Everyone can be successful out here in this world. It may not be all big houses, fancy cars, and white picket fences at the current moment of the game; you can progress forward with a little hard work and fortunes will come your way. There are some things about you, the people you associate with, and events that you get involved in that you will not be able to change...no matter how hard you try. When the difficulty of the game increases, don't step back into the darkness; step up and take the challenge head-on.

So today go out there, prepare for battle, and make it happen.
Your future success and futuristic you depends on it.

Love Yo Face. Enjoy Your Monday.

106...!

"Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored."

-Earl Nightingale

Half-Time.

Get Ready For the Next Battle.

The whistles blows; halftime.
You pace yourself towards the lockers.
Decent 1st half; not what you expected.
Came out the gates firing; attack at full force.
Got some lucky breaks.
Reeling from the counters of your nemesis.
Able to hold a slim lead at the break.

Sitting at your post.
Dripping sweat, feeling drained but good.
Grasping your breath, patching your wounds.
Going over the blueprint; switching the X’s and O’s.
Adding new sequences for attack and defense.
Refueling the veins with adrenaline and will.
For there’s another half to be played.

Victory is within your grasp.
The opposition will stop at nothing.
They want to see you fall short.
And will do anything to give you that L.
RISE.
The whistle is about to be blown.
Keep attacking with an iron will,
Defend with the supporter’s shield.

You got this; One More Half.
Win and You Are In.

(Whistles!)

It has begun.

Time to Finish This.

You Made It! Cheers!

Just like OanaRayne's photo here...Here's a Toast!
Ladies and Gentlemen...we have made it to Friday!!!

All those objectives from Monday wrapping up along with all the events on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday currently surrounding your cranium and taking their toll on your body can finally come to rest. Why? Because Friday has risen from her lovely sheets to show her pretty face just for you!

And that should put a little step in your 2 step today!

But Yeah! Friday is here! Woot! I'm feeling spent energy wise from finishing up playing some pickup basketball outside in the blazing sun; feeling all sort of good. Also feeling great for accomplishing a goal that I had this week which was do some sort of exercise/workout everyday this week...so yeah my fuel tank just might be running a little close to E right about now haha.

Aye...still feeling good and hopefully y'all do as well. The weekend is here so let's go out there and enjoy it boys and girls!

Love Yo Faces.

Cheers!

IT'S HUMPING TIMMEEE!

Allo Hello people of the interwebs! Hope that the first few days of your new week has lead to some progression mixed with a variety of awesomeness.

If this week have gone your way or it just knocked you down with a hay-maker in the opening rounds, we have arrived to the mid-point; also known as Hump Day! (Woot!)

So for humping purposes, let me introduce you to this week's trio of quotations to put some more spring in your shoes for hump jumping purposes!

"Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential."
-Winston Churchill

"If you stand for something, you're gonna have a hater or 2."
-Kazie

"Strength of character means the ability to overcome resentment against others, to hide hurt feelings, and to forgive quickly."
-Lawrence G. Lovasik

Viva La Hump Day!

Critical...Monday?

Have a seat. Monday can wait a couple minutes.
This would be the part of the Monday post where I would be going all Allo Hello! along with the daily jibber jabber about life in general and plans for the new series of challenges ahead...

Gonna make a little tweak this week...

The following rage post scheduled for one fall will be a Critical Post; usually the type of post seen on Thursdays here at Moternative. And the topic would just so happen to be about...

Society Around This Whole Zimmerman Fiasco.

From what I have noticed from your tweets, posts, statuses, QuickPics, Instagrams, and other ways of expressing thoughts and opinions upon social networking is that society is all into their feelings recently; no real surprise why due to the fact we just had a "controversial" decision made in the courtroom on Saturday evening.

In case you haven't seen the news or actually logged into your social network of choice, George Zimmerman was found NOT GUILTY for the killing of Treyvon Martin in Florida on Saturday night. And it felt like the majority of people in the states all just had a quick gasp of air when the judge read the decision; and then proceeded to drink heavily and go out and tear shit up...because that will show 'em whose boss around here.

Seeing all these pictures of people literally enraged to the point of snapping to videos of people "rioting for change" and people even blacking out their profile pictures along with people with their hoods up for support and a search for justice had me thinking the following...Why am I surprised?

Fortunately for myself, I had the opportunity to attend college and receive a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and I had my eye on and off of this entire case but in the end when the verdict was read aloud I honestly was not surprised. Due to the fact that the prosecution did absolutely NOTHING to prove that Zimmerman did...well anything. Did Zimmerman kill Treyvon? You can make a case saying that he did. However, in the courtroom the prosecution's main objective is to PROVE BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT that you did do the crime which they failed at doing in my opinion. The fact that the defense team started things off in the courtroom with the knock-knock joke from hell gave a slimmer of hope but that just wasn't the case.

And then people bringing up race into the mixture of all this (yet again); I swear this is like the flavor added to almost any conversation here in the states. It's really aggravating when people bring this up about a black teenager dying by the hands of Hispanic adult male and say it was racist without even looking at the whole picture. Could it have been a racist act? No doubt. Yet...no one really knows the full picture of what happened on that faithful night. Then of course people trying to flip-flop sides saying well if Zimmerman was black...ugh. New flash! Every person of color, race, ethnicity, whatever has the right to a fair trial here in this country. I know...shocker. Don't get me wrong...racism is still alive in this world but that doesn't give anyone the right to profile someone just because you THINK that this happened only because of someone's skin color.

Another factor is that...IT'S FLORIDA! Florida is like the bizarro world here in the states...

Of course what does society do after something like this happens? WE RIOT! Because breaking things, causing harm to others, and just be a nuisance will clearly solve things right? Being a close-minded judgmental prick mixed with an adolescent nuisance that gets mad when they don't get their way is not the way to make change. Everyone has a right to vocalize their opinion; that's one of the reasons why it's great being an American in the greatest country on Earth. (Yeah I said it...MERICA!

You want to try and change things around here? Be like the group of people that marched to the state courthouse and vocalized their opinion to their court system. Because unlike what some people say...America has the best court system on this planet. Period. The End. I'm not saying that it is perfect because it never will be; yes there are some laws that need to be updated here and there along with some practices and procedures that are due for a review or a rewrite...but imagine living in a country without laws, courts, or even a system in general. Yeah...America doesn't sound so shitty anymore does it?

And for the love of God...if you're gonna express an opinion, please research it before you actually say something. I love how everyone all of sudden becomes a court "expert" after a decision was made like this; and all they do is sit on the couch and watch CNN all day while playing Candy Crush during commercials. Seriously...you're not an expert; Stop acting like one. You can't compare old cases in this corner with cases on the other side of the room because each case is different; that's the first thing I learned in Intro to Criminal Justice 151 in the lecture halls. Yes...some cases do have similarities but they have different victims, testimonies, evidence, directs, crosses, and so on and so on; so just shut up and log out.

All in all...I saw nothing wrong with the case in general. The state was idiotic enough to charge Zimmerman with 2nd degree murder without actually having a strong enough case to prove it. If the only person you have for a testimony is someone that called Zimmerman "a creepy-ass cracka" then yeah...you're not gonna win anything. And in addition you try to get lesser charges at the last moment because you knew it wasn't strong enough...highly laughable because you still didn't prove anything. It was sad that Zimmerman got to walk but if you think about it he will end up just like Casey Anthony because society will always think that he is guilty and will treat him that way for the rest of his life; And that is a very harsh punishment in itself.

At the end of the day the real victim of this whole thing was Treyvon Martin. He was a young boy that got his life taken away from him unwilling due to being in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong person. No one besides him and George Zimmerman knows exactly what happened on that night and unfortunately for young Treyvon he is no longer here. Which flat-out sucks and takes a toll on his loved ones, friends, and above all else his family.

Some things are in need of change but the way society has been all deeply wrapped up in a body pillow full of emotions this will lead to us as people making rash decisions that will not benefit our society but make it worse. We as people need to think more critically with the brains that we are gifted with and make America a better place both in and outside the courtroom. Because it's not just Florida that needs some fixing, it's all 50 states (including the District of Columbia).

In due time, change will come. Some people will applaud it, some will nod their heads in approval, others will stare, while others will punch, kick, and scream at it. Do your fair share this week and work towards making yourself better as a person and if you have to change things to make that happen...Do It. You might not like it at first but in the long run it might help you better mentally, physically, financially, spiritually, or anything else with -lly on the end.

I send my prayers and thoughts to the family of Treyvon Martin. I couldn't imagine what they could be going through right now but I believe that better days lie ahead for them and for us as a people. We just got to stay the course, conduct ourselves, and just keep on kickin' ass!

We can get better as a people and make process to become better as a nation.

And after that pipe bomb...Love Yo Face. Enjoy Your Week.

"Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can't ride you unless your back is bent."

Viva La Hump Day!

The Arrival. (On Tap 105)

Lovin' this photo from IvanAndreevich on deviantART...also lovin' a new week upon the rising sun!

As the sun rises above the horizon to signify a new day, a new week, a new challenge. I say the following...oh allo hello to you all!

The weekend that previously passed us was quite a busy one as grills were warming up hot dogs and hamburgers, coolers were overflowing with beer and other beverages, cars were zooming up and down the highway from destination to destination (hopefully not in the police's radar...) and fireworks lit up the night sky as if the darkness turned into a Christmas tree as we celebrated 4th of July!

And the 5th, 6th, and 7th...MERICA!

But alas...and unfortunately...Monday is here once again and she put on some extra makeup just to make you glaze over her a little more since she didn't feel loved last week by you. So show her some love!

It's gonna be another crazy week for myself but hey...couldn't have it any other way. Going to get everything that I can conquered and completed while shedding a smile and cracking a few jokes and lol moments here and there while doing it.

In order to get things accomplished and to better oneself, I've learned that you basically have to be obsessed with an objective in order to achieve it. Goals such as getting better at basketball, shedding a few pounds, increasing the muscle on those puny bones of yours, saving money towards a new purchase of awesomness; all of the things...you have to have a certain obsession and will to make those things happen.

So go out there and do just that...Make It Happen.

Love Yo Face. Enjoy Your Week.

-Ella Wheeler Wilcox

#MERICA!

Today will celebrate our Independence Day!

Allo Hello ladies and gents and in case you haven't looked at your calendar yet...today is July 4th! Which is a very special date for us as Americans as it was on this day back in 1776 where we adopted the Deceleration of Independence and declared ourselves as an independent country away from the Kingdom of Great Britain.

So fire up the grill, grab the cooler filled with a few cold ones, power up that party playlist, invite your buds, and let the good times roll as today we celebrate America! (F*!k Yeah!)

And don't forget the Fireworks!

I wish all of you a great Thursday and a Happy 4th of July!

Even though technically it is Thursday...ahh, screw it...it's a Holiday!

Cheers!

Just Be.

You can travel the world
But you can't run away
From the person you are in your heart.
You can be who you want to be.
Make us believe in you,
Keep all your light in the dark.
If you're searching for truth,
You must look in the mirror
And make sense of what you can see

Just Be.
Just Be.

.
They say learning to love yourself
Is the first step.
That you take when you want to be real.
Flying on planes to exotic locations
Won't teach you
How you really feel.
Face up to the fact
That you are who you are.
And nothing can change that belief.

Just Be.
Just Be.

Cause now I know.
It's not so far
To where I go
The hardest part
Is inside me.
I need
To Just Be.

It's A New Dance! (On Tap 104)

Allo Hello people of the Interwebs and welcome to your new challenge!

Hopefully during your time period of partying, hanging out, working on your tan, doing pushups, studying on the balcony or whatever it was that you were doing during your weekend turned out great...because a new week has arrived at our doorstep!

Monday? Ugh...I mean...Bring It On!

It was a grand weekend for myself...filled with objectives, good times, a little R&R, and GGGOOAAAAALLLLLLL.....S. So I'm a little jumpy jumpy as I'm getting ready to start a whole new week filled with some crazy objectives already and it's only been a couple of hours. No sweat right? Well I might be sweating a little bit later...after hitting the soccer field.

Alas, we're all here and blessed to see another Monday even though that word seems like a curse just because it starts with the letter M and ends in Day. The first step is always the hardest, so is usually the first day of the week. And when you survive the thrills and spills of Monday...then the next few days should be as easy as dancing the Charleston.

Maybe the Waltz is easier? You get the idea...

Put your boggie shoes on and head out to the dance floor.
It's Time To Dance.

Love Yo Face. Enjoy The Week.
