A Motivational Alternative

I'm Not Fat, I'm Active!

"An active mind cannot exist in an inactive body." -General George S. Patton

Put down the turkey leg. Hey! I said put it down!

How are you gonna lose those pounds off you want gone if your not even motivated enough to move off the couch while eating a double cheeseburger combo from the local fast food joint. Gah..that does sound good right now.

But back to the point...one of the most common resolutions when a new year has come involves the following: losing some amount of weight. Now some people are able to accomplish their goal successfully while others struggle with it all year long. Fortunately I'm here to give a helping hand when you go back to the scales to see you're awesome results!

  • Don't Overdo It!!!
You are not a fancy exotic sports car when it comes to working out and losing the pounds; Don't act like it now. With dedication and work, the pounds will eventually go away but if you overdo your workout routine then your body can suffer in a negative way.

By whatever you mean? Well back pain, swollen knees, torn hamstrings, athlete's foot and other body malfunctions could be in your future if you decided to try to become the next Arnold Schwarzenegger of body and fitness. Just take your time.

  • Target What YOU Want Gone.
When you have a specific area or body part that you want changed, you are starting to go in the right direction. If you want to have a complete body makeover then go for it! However if you just want a slimmer stomach or buffer arms or firmer bootius maximus then do workout routines specifically targeting those areas for quicker and more defined results.

It's okay to be gym retarded. Here's a few sites that I personally use for more info on nutrition tips and routines to help you look more awesome.
-Muscle & Fitness - My personal favorite with exercises and nutrition tips.
-ABC of Fitness- A variety of exercises tutorials that show you how to do them correctly.
-Food Fit- Healthy recipes and alternatives without all those calories.

  • The World is Your Gym
This means that the gym is not the only place where you can lose weight. There's the local basketball courts, DDR Arcades, sidewalks, even your job! Multiple venues can host your weight lost progress. Yes, the gym is a good place to go but you can spice it up with mixing it up like going to the gym to work on your arms one day then taking a light jog outside the next.

Mix and match your routine can also effect your results positively as well. If you just do the same old thing over and over and over and over...then your not really doing anything but just pressing the reset button numerous times.

Play a game of DDR, workout at the gym, light jog, practicing boxing combos. That would be one of my many workout routines. I like doing a variety of things to keep myself active and such...do it!

  • This Is a Mental AND Physical Game
As much as losing weight drains you physically it does almost double that amount on your brain. Especially if your looking for everything to be lost in the first few workouts. Usually people start to lose a significant amount of weight at first then it slowly stops; this is of course where people starting to get frustrated and quit and regain all the weight back by stuffing their tears into a XXL ice cream bowl.

You just gotta keep a clear head, focus on your goal, and go through with it. Plus, you need to have fun while doing what your doing. Listening to music, watching TV, or talking/working out with a friend. There's so many add-ons to your workout that can make it more fun and enjoyable.

Just remember to keep your brain on and happy. I don't want it going downhill!

Well, that's my tips for you for obtaining one of your possible many resolutions for 2011. Have fun, lose weight, and stay active!

Oh yea...your not fat, you just ACTIVE!!
You can DO IT!!! ;)
