Merry Christmas!

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas! Enjoy it and don't go too crazy on the eggnog!

Actually...yeah why not...:)

Humping. It's A Thing.

Humping Around, Around We Go.
Gotta love Wednesday when Humping is involved.

Gifts, Gifts, and Gifts! Oh My!
Only a few more days until Christmas, and I still haven't finished my Shopping List. Fortunately, I'm not alone in this crazy time of the year of checking it twice, making decisions on who's naughty or nice, and making sure my wallet isn't empty after everything is wrapped up in gift wrap. Most of the pals I've already given gifts too has laughed and
loved them thus far...hoping
the streak continues!

DJ Reidiculous. And He Is Reidiculous.

Speaking of gifts, here's a musical one for y'all. As most people know, I'm a fan of dance/house remixes of songs that just sound ridiculous on the 1s and 2s. Enter DJ Reidiculous. I recently started listening to some of this guy's musical creations and I was blown away. He takes popular songs (and not so popular ones...) and turns them into musical dancing anthems that were born to groove to downtown at your local nightlife club. Did I also mention that his remixes are free via download? You're welcome. Enjoy the REIDICULOUSNESS! via DJ Reidiculous via Link!

And lastly this fine little pictorial message...

Viva La Hump Day To All! And To All More Humping!

Moving Forward (On Tap 91)

Arise like the morning sun to the heavens.
Hello Peeps. Welcome to another week of thrills, spills, and adventure.

Tragedy in Newtown

Unfortunately for the citizens of Newtown, Connecticut it has already been a hellacious week for them as we roll into Monday. The 20 kids and 6 adults that were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary on Friday was a shock to the small town of Newtown and the entire Nation as a whole. This deranged and severly mental person decided to take his life after killing 26 people in a place where it is suppose to be sacred ground; a place where parents send their kids to learn, play, and be nurtured. It was a very sad and sickening display of cowardness by this individual and the damage he brought onto families that will now have to spend Christmas without their loved ones will be difficult to bear. President Barack Obama even stated that this was the hardest situation he had to deal with as President of the United States as he spoke to the citizens of Newtown Sunday evening. My condolences and prayers go out to all of those that lost their loved ones on that tragic day and to the family, friends, and close ones of the victims that they will be able to get through this horrible time and get back on their feet.

In The Darkness, Light Will Take You To The Other Side.

In times of turmoil, despair, and eternal darkness, we as humans during these troubling times somehow are able to find the light at the end of the tunnel.  Yes, it is absolute hell going through it but as things start progressing, as things start panning themselves out, all of a sudden we start feeling the light warm us up a bit. At some points in life, you are gonna feel like you are trapped in your own personal darkness with no one around, no shelter to hide, and no air to breathe. But fear not...you are not alone and you can prevail.  You are capable of doing incredible things; rising from the ashes of defeat is one of them. Don't let a tragic moment in time define what you are. Take the necessary time and effort to grieve, rebuild, and recovery from the tragic; once you're ready to take on the world, you shall arise to your feet because you will not parish.

Tomorrow is never promised. Live today to the fullest.

Life can feel like a regular routine for us; so regular in fact that we believe that it's just a rotating circle that will never seem to end. Until that one fatal day actually becomes a reality. I'm not saying that you should live your life in fear...far from that statement. Instead, live every single day like it's your last in a sense.  Pretty sure that was a song lyric from some musical number...but anyways. Enjoy life each day and keep the bad shit at bay.  We really don't know what's next in the afterlife...hell, we aren't sure if this is our last life to live before we depart. But I know one thing...everyone should live it and enjoy it. Love the people that you associate with, do things and enjoy the company of family and friends, the random moments of joy and lol's around town and beyond state lines. This is our lives that we live, don't stress 'em. Enjoy them.

That's all from me today on this Monday. Enjoy yours as I sure as hell will with mine. Even if I do have to work while running on insomniac mode today. That's what Gatorade is for lol.

Love Yo Faces.
Enjoy Your Week.

91...!

God has called them all home. For those of us who remain, let us find the strength to carry on and make our country worthy of their memory.

-Barack Obama

A Letter.

To the ones that saw my first breaths,
To the people that think I had potential,
To the ones that looked up to me,
To the ones that knocked me down a few kegs,
To the moments that tested my patience,
To the moments that raised my joy,
To the moments that shed my tears,
To the moments that left me breathless & reckless,
To the people that I drafted to my team,
To the people I kicked out of my league,
To the ones that stabbed me,
To the ones that spat on my face,
To the ones that thought I was a nobody,
To the ones that rode my pigtails,
To the ones that hate but don't congratulate,
To the ones that I have broken,
To the ones that I have loved,
To the ones that I raise up,
To the ones that I inspire,
To the ones that helped create me,
To the ones that modified my software,
To the moments that upgraded my armor,
To the ones that were on my side since day 1,
To the ones that have come and gone,
To the ones that I just met and joined the game,
To the ones that are away but still connect,
To the moments that I thought would end me,
To the moments that forever changed me,
To the things that left me in awe,
To the things that left me saying WTF,
To the ones that believe that this is just the beginning,
To the ones that believe that this is where I will stop,
To the ones that believe that the sky is the limit,
To the ones that believe that the sky will fall.

Thanks.
Thanks For Everything.

Humping Around.

Wednesday. The 3rd Day of the week.
Also known for humping. Lots of it.

Raise the Bass. It makes you Healthy.
I'm a BIG music lover. Lover all kinds of music; well except gospel...that can sit on the shelf. Anyway, I was talking to a co-worker of mine and we were chit chatting about our music favs and then he brought up how music is good for the health. Learning about how music can actually be a health necessity was interesting. Here's some neat facts about music and it's bassful effects on your body.

-Music can enhance reading and literacy skills
-Causes physical relaxation and stress reduction
-Music causes the body to release endorphins to counteract pain.
-Helps migraine and chronic headaches by reducing the intensity, duration, and frequency of the pain.
-Great for memory exercise for brain activities.

Want more cool facts? Here's a Link To More...Music, It's Good For You.
Basically, instead of grabbing that bottle of aspirin, grab a pair of headphones and turn up the music.

Jump Into Friendships.
Friendships: Something simple yet very complicated. I'm fortunate to have a couple of these with some awesome people and they somehow put up with me so it's a win-win. You might be having a bad day and all you need is one of your friends to do something stupid to forget about it. That's what friends are for right? A true friend is there for you to give you a laugh, a hug if you need one after a bad situation, someone that you can act stupid with and be normal, and just make you feel ahh-mazing. Also...friends are good for your health! Well unless they piss you off...then they can become a biohazard. Hopefully the biohazards happen less often...but yeah friendships.

Go get you some.

Happy Viva La Hump Day Peeps! Enjoy Your Wednesday and the rest of your week!

Up and At 'Em! (On Tap 90)

Time For Another Week of Adventure.
What Up people of the interwebs! I have returned from a little vacation of typing, posting, and other ing things on this little blog here. Been quite busy the last few days for myself but I did enjoy every second of it; however I missed waking up in the morning, having some OJ or Cider, and booting up the laptop and just type type type away. Ok...too emotional for an intro...let's get into it!

Mission Accomplished: Almost.

I'm now under a week away from graduating from college; pretty big accomplishment for this little guy here. So much that my family and friends are getting more excited than me haha. But yeah...spent years getting up to this point and it is inching closer and closer. Kind of bittersweet honestly; don't get me wrong...happy that I will be walking but I'm gonna miss the daily hustle running around campus to get to class. Gonna take some getting use to actually having free time for once...weird haha.

Seize Your Opportunities.

I can honestly say with a straight face that I do the following headline on almost the daily basis now. For example, at my job we've been short staffed and my bosses had some extra time available if I wanted it. Of course having more money is not a bad decision to be made even if I do have to work between 30-40 hours that week; totally worth it in the end. People must learn to adapt to situations that have stepped into and see what rewards rely within them. Opportunities pop up here and there and most people don't even realize that it is there until it is too late or they're just too lazy to even pick 'em up.  From your job to the home to even the gym or a restaurant while your sipping on beverage of choice, look around. There may be an opportunity of choice staring right back at you.

MotiTunes!

So I've been on some sort of hip hop kick the past couple of weeks. And not that mainstream BS that has been infected speakers with YOLO, Soulja Boy, and 28s and other crap...I've listened to some 90's rap and shuffling through the classics. Then I started listening to Xzibit's Napalm (his newest album) and I was very impressed with it since he hasn't spit in a few years. Was such a fan of 1983 that I tweeted a lyric and he actually retweeted! (Awesomeness!)

Only the strong live long, you better settle in.
I'm fighting forever, I will never let the devil win.

Recommend a listen highly. So much so that I'll give you a link right over here: 1983

Another song I may have put on repeat...a lot...was 50 Cent's new song "My Life" featuring Adam Levine and Eminem.  Saw the music video for it and was instantly a fan of the song; another trip to the iTunes store was in order haha. Loved the beat, lyrics, and the video as a whole was well produced. Here's a link to My Life...video wise.

Should be a fun week ahead. Feeling fatigued a little bit after a few matches I had over the weekend along with stomping and yelling at the Stu; all in a good fun though. As always...the fancy PhillyD reference applies here.

Love Yo Faces.
Have a Great Monday and Week!

90...!

I'm doing what I'm supposed to
I'm a writer, I'm a fighter, entrepreneur.
Fresh off the sewer, watch me maneuver, what's it to you?
The track I laced it, it's better than basic.
This is my recovery, my comeback.

-50 Cent, "My Life"

Lyrical Spiritual 6

I know your're waiting and you're so damn nervous.
I know you're hoping that I could explain this.
Look In My Eyes.
I will try and show you.

My eyes are a window to the world,
And this world is oh so cold.
Having to put on triple layers
As I keep working the mold.
Getting deeper into the chaos with every step,
Breathing heavier with every breathe.
With extra omph! in my step, I'm making process.
People judge with their eyes; thinking with negativity.
I take that, drink it, and use it as energy.

It might not look like much in the building process,
At least from the outside eyes.
Thinking that no one cares whether you live or die.
But look into my eyes...you will survive.
The will to be better, I can see it through your eyes.
You might stay stationary but you at least try.
Trying to make it out of the coldness,
Into the warming light.

My eyes look like the devil is burning in them.
Due to the burning desire.
As I view people continuously fall to the ground,
Broken, shattered, dead.
Unable to move. Just sitting their motionless.
Trying to fit into the world they're buying.
Wipe those tears and arise to your feet.
Failing is an unfortunate part of society.
Staying in that position is up to your decision making.
Option A: Stay there. Label yourself a loser.
Option B: Build yourself up into a possible winner.

Work Hard, Play Hard. That's the motto for me.
YOLO is played out, retarded, and needs to cease.
Speaking on behalf of my eyes...we need to rise.
Do what you gotta do, that's your job.
The bigger the bill, the harder you ball.
Because you don't want to take that nasty fall.
Don't sit there patiently waiting for chances

Don't be afraid to fail, always make advances.

Humpty de Hump!

Allo Hello Wednesday. Nice to see you again kind lady.
Time to... Do the Humpty Hump! Come On! Humpty de Hump!

Turkey, Wine, and Cheese!!! Oh My!!!
The main course of the week would probably have something to do with the big bird in this picture. Thanksgiving is coming up...in actually 24 hours...so prep the bird, make sure Momma's mac and cheese is on point, and don't forget the moonshine! Hopefully your family isn't split between the Skins and Cowboys game; if that's your scenario step away from the utensils. Food will fly. Or watch the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament during the feeding face ceremonies...GO RAMS!

More Work, More Play
This motto has been my motivation for the week. So you probably could visualize my reaction when I started listening to a track with the same title. I'm a fan of Wiz Khalifa even though he represents Pittsburgh and I'm a Philly fan; football roots haha. But at least he rocks Black & Gold just like VCU so I can deal with that. Anywho...I listened to his song "Work Hard, Play Hard" on numerous occasions this week and it has definitely helped motivation wise to keep doing my thing. Like the song says:

Make sure you do whatever is that you gotta do, That's Your Job.

Here's the song for your ear pleasure: Work Hard, Play Hard

Just keeping doing what you do peeps. Enjoy your Wednesday and don't forget to add more with the hips when doing the Humpty Hump.  :P

The bigger the bill, the harder you ball.
Well I'm throwing mine, cause my money long.
The quicker you here, the faster you go.
That's why where I come from the only thing we know is...

Work Hard, Play Hard

Vives, Vamos, and other V words (On Tap 89)

Vamos United.
Whew...what a weekend. So much that I didn't even have enough energy to move my fingers across the keyboard to make words and sentences on Monday. Basically you would have seen this: asjhl21nba lasinlaksn ojh. But was it worth it? Absolutely.

Kegs & Eggs!

My weekend was already busy enough but when DC United was scheduled to play in DC on Sunday, I knew exactly where I would be that morning. The tough part was working all those hours before making the trip up north but it was worth it when unlimited Woodchuck, eggs, burgers, laughs, and good times was awaiting at your destination.  Unfortunately we did not make the Final Round but damn I love my DC United Families of supporters and this team. Can't wait for the next season to kick off! VAMOS!

More Work, More Play

The fact that I was so drained from the weekend and somehow made it to work on time the following Monday was an absolute blessing. If you were a betting man, you might have lost some money during that contest. But my philosophy is this: More Work, More Play. You have to put in the time and effort to advance yourself along in this world but you also need to dedicate some of that time towards making yourself  happy outside the office. Whether it's hanging with friends doing something stupid, cooking in the kitchen, watching some movies on the couch, trying to get the high score on a video game, or even taking a nap...it is essential that you give yourself some personal time. After all, your schedule is already filled up enough with dates, timelines, and meetings as is...make a few appointments so you and your body can enjoy life a little more.

Get Ready For The Next Battle

So Monday is gone; time to polish the armor and get ready for Tuesday. You're body is already warmed up...hopefully double layered if it's as cold as it is RVA currently brr!!! Don't forget to stretch!  My week got a little more hectic but here's a few positives about that...I like my job and I get a paycheck for my efforts. See? Doesn't sound so bad now does it?! Anywho...good luck to everyone this week. Let's make it a great one!

Have A Great Tuesday!
Press Start.

Back On Board (On Tap 88)

Time To Ride The Wave.
What up people of the Interwebs. Hope you guys had a fantastic weekend on the 3rd Rock. I enjoyed mine thoroughly mixing it with various activities.

GO RAMS GO!

Officially the basketball season for VCU kicked off and it could not have gotten off any better. VCU dominated Florida Gulf Coast and kept stealing the ball as if it was their job; well...it kinda was. Even got a coupon for some free Nachos at Baja Bean after the game...guess where I went after that?  Great times. Even went on the mic since it was karaoke night at the establishment...gat damn!!! haha.

New Week, New Adventure.

You might want to just stay in bed all day but unfortunately we are not gifted with the luxury. We gotta make a living and it starts with the first step into the world. There will be some instances that you wish you could avoid but at the end of the week the positives will always outweigh the negatives.  Like I said...it all starts with you and how you attack out of the gates to start a new week of adventure.

Alright peeps. I gotta get dressed and run towards the city. Gotta make sure I got enough juice in me so I can make sure my groove is tuned right haha. Later!

Enjoy Monday!

Lyrical Spiritual 5

The fight between your two biggest rivals.
It’s a constant civil war.
Many battles take place on the battleground.
One outdoing the other, never getting total victory.
Both sides have a decent strategy.
They both have the desire to win.
As your brain and heart prepare for the next round,
You start struggling from within.

Logic can be your best hand in situations,
Sometimes emotion has a role too.
When the time reaches it’s end. You must choose a winner.
Who will get their hand raised high in victory?
Few instances, there is a clear victor.
Other times you will be looking for a replay.
Hell, it even can become a draw as you schedule a rematch.

The trashtalk between them can be unbearable.
You just want a clear answer on the matter.
Even if it’s simple as: Should I go out for a coffee?
The two instantly banter while you try to scatter.
Deep within those nerves, blood, atoms, and tissues
Heart and Brain are allies, not axis.
Bicker like two toddlers but they have your best interest at heart.

When they are on the same page, they can be a great overshield.
In reality, try listening to both sides of the book.
They might fight over spilled milk, but give the guys some love.
After all, they help make you what you is.
Try using their powers for good.
Maybe it’s as simple as that line.

But your heart and brain are far from just being sublime.

Viva La Pictorial Hump Day!

Hey Guys and Gals of the interwebs! It's Wednesday!!!
...Viva La Hump Day is officially upon us!

First pictorial goes to the newly re-elected President of the United States Barack Obama. Congrats sir on earning another 4 year term. Hopefully the change for America that he promises will help our nation as a whole become more powerful and better than it is now. Was a tight race at the beginning stages but Obama took over and ran through the finish line winning in the electoral college. Another celebratory note here...the constant emotional and annoying political ads have now ceased fire! Whatever party you support...at least we can agree on that being a good thing. Right?!

Nice head invaderblonde haha.
Look it's the middle of the week and some of you might be feeling like my good friend here. Swamped, pent up rage, and your plate is overflowing and the waiter keeps adding more and more to it. Here's a tip that might help...release that anger by tuning up it's suspension and torque into something that will ACTUALLY help your problem. For example, that paper that you procrastinated with for weeks and now you only have a few days left to turn it in? (Yes. Looking at you college freshman..) Make a daily schedule by writing parts of the paper until you complete it; and if you finish in one session, even better.  Also, stop being so damn emotional about everything...you're gonna permanently stain that nice shirt of yours.

incolor16 found it!
Some people are desperate to find this potion shown to your left. Love is a very tricky and damaging thing but it can be very luscious and rewarding if you have it with the right person.  That said...don't be so turnt up on trying to drink some of Cupid's special drink. There is someone out there that if you give them the time of day and open your heart up a bit...then you will love...hard. Speaking of love hard, I think Kid Cudi's quote would fit perfectly right here.

If you love soft, then you already lost.
But oh, if you love hard.
You should let down your guard and follow your heart.

-Kid Cudi

Rise and Shine (On Tap 87)

Rise and Shine, Time To Grind.

Let's do the time warp again!!!

Hopefully you realized that it is NOT an hour into the future currently and set your time back to the appropriate setting. So relax...you're not late for work or class...at least not yet. :P

Back to the regular scheduled post...this weekend was crazy! Seriously felt I was time traveling in the office when it struck 2 AM then did the reverse back to 1. That or I had a severe lack of sleep at the time... Along with doing some couch lounging and watching a couple of games mixed with completing some homework assignments been a good weekend.

Oh look...the sun has risen. (Checks Calendar) Monday Is Here!

Something I noticed the past couple of days is people are feeling stressed out and unwanted. First off...STOP THAT! Secondly, take a deep breath and release some of that tension out in the version of stress relievers. I find video games and a good sweat at the gym helps me out; maybe it can help you too. Don't want to see that frown and flow of tears become a permanent scar on your face.

Stress Less: Laugh More.

Thankful that Monday has returned and also thankful that these damn political commercials are almost extinct from society.  Whether you vote Republican, Democratic, Libertarian, Tea, Green, Yellow, Anarchist, Pony, Chair...remember that voting day is TOMORROW! Let your voice be heard and head to the polls to cast your vote. You can't complain about America if you don't speak your mind. I already voted early so I get to cozy up in bed for just a few hours. Yay me!! But if you haven't already...Go VOTE!

Vote...Do It.

Alright...time to arise to my feet and step out the door with my best foot forward and do a jig on the way to the city. Love Yo Faces!

Have a Great Monday!
Press Start...Ding!

Oh the randomness that life brings.
The type of random that makes your break out and sing.
We all make up plans, try to schedule our events.
Sometimes you have to throw them over the fence.

I can look up to the sky and say I’m blessed.
Not to get a Like or +1, forget all of that mess.
Living life to the fullest on a budget.
Just going with the flow.
Because at the end, my smile and spirit shall grow.

That’s what some people need to do.
Take precaution to the wind.
If a few moments in life, you just go with the flow.
Then at the end you might hear “All I Do is Win”.
It is okay to have a plan on some days.
Others, just dive in without a helmet.

Life brings randomness, it’s one of the many gifts it brings.
Another gift it brings is winning by 50.
If you are a VCU fan, you’re welcome for that reference.
But yeah…live a little is the name of the game.
Going with the flow while keeping your frame.
Keep that smile extra white,
Upgrade that spirit to high bright.

Because sometimes randomness helps increase your light.

Trick Or Treat!

My friends and I here wish you all a Spooky Halloween!
Bring us back some candy...

Also Viva La Hump Day de Halloween Edition!

Boo!

Sandy and The Weekend. (On Tap 86)

It's a-coming...

What a weekend. And now a wild hurricane appeared!

Been a grand weekend for myself. One...it was Halloween weekend so I had an excuse to dress up, head to a few parties, and dance the night away along with enjoy some Halloween mist in my cup.  Along with watching DC United grab 2nd place for the MLS Playoffs, watching college football, and other activities...my Sunday was spent resting on the couch trying to recover from all the epicness.

Still don't feel like moving...

Alas, the new week is here and the folks here in RVA along with myself are in for a doozy thanks to Hurricane Sandy making it's way here shortly.  Evacuations have already been sent out, people grabbing all the water they can find at WalMart, and of course...hurricane parties! Can't have a natural disaster without that huh?

In all seriousness, Sandy seems to be a Category 2 Hurricane but more than likely downgrade to Category 1 as it it moves up the East Coast towards North Carolina, Virginia, and Maryland. Hopefully everyone is ready for this event. Looks like everyone is taking it seriously seeing that all the schools have been shut down today...even VCU is closed.

Wha??? Shocker I know...

Other than that...besides Sandy trying to get sand and a lot of dirty water all over your Monday, today will hopefully not be as bad the weathermen are predicting. If you have the day off...first off, lucky you! Secondly, stay safe out there and enjoy your day indoors!

Don't let Sandy come in, she will tear your place up!
Enjoy Your Monday!

Lyrical Spiritual 3

Life can be a great lover in one moment,
Take a 360 and mutate into your worst nightmare.
Whoa..that’s was only the first line.
So buckle up as you continue to use your eyes.

We all know that this thing called life is great.
However, there are instances where it’s not so great.
Those hugs turn into stab wounds,
Former friends and family transform into goons.
One instance you seem to be working well,
In a split second that becomes total hell.
Look, bad shit happen. No censorship required.
If you looking for a fairytale, here take this lighter.
Deaths, failures, blocks, and distractions.
Saying that life is perfect…just pure fiction.

I’m not sounding like a politician promising change.
Or one that flip-flops thoughts every hour.
Nah, I’m giving you a taste of reality.
Just because bad things happen to knock you down,
Doesn’t mean you should hold yourself on the ground.
When the ref is making the count,
You should be making effort to arise back on your feet.
Not becoming another victim of drama from the street.

The negative can transform us with a positive at a later date.
From personal experiences, I’m a great example of that.
My world use to be filled with troubles under pitch black.
Now I’m equipped with a tougher armor and an increased attack.
You can step over whatever is causing you turmoil.
Find the inner strength within and let it uncoil.
It might take a while to take that first step to recovery.
As long as you don’t stay stationary forever.
I’ve seen too many individuals turn into mush because of that.

It might be a storm you’re stuck in, maybe even a natural disaster.
You’re broken. Wishing that better days will come faster.
Take a look in the mirror and look what’s staring back at you.

Vow that this individual will make it through.

RUN! RUN! RUN!

Don't Stay Stationary.

Run Towards Success.
