A Tornado? (On Tap 73)

Wasn't expecting that...

So RVA got hit with a severe storm that changed into a tornado warning and caused some damage all around central VA.  Heavy rain and extreme winds threw some trees around and caused a lot of power outages all over.

This was a curve-ball that came out of nowhere. Literally, it was around 90 degrees with the sun out and blue skies then all of sudden we see this.

More than 136,000 residents didn't have power but fortunately that number has gone down to 80,000 since this morning.  Still...that's very unfortunate that this has happened.

I'm fortunate that I was able to recover my power last evening.  Wishing everyone that was affected by this storm nothing but the best and hopefully power will be restored to your homes soon.

It was even crazier at night all around town due to the traffic lights being out, debris on the interstates, and a few bad car accidents along the road.  Plus with it being pitch black, seriously felt as if I was driving around in a ghost town.  No houses lit up, no stores open, and all you can see literally is the road in front of you headlights.

Tuesday should be a better day for the citizens of RVA. Prayers sent to all of you; Stay safe out there.

Party in South Beach (On Tap 72)

LeBron finally gets a ring...it's about time.

NBA Finals wrapped up with a dominating performance shown by the Heat as they won Game 5 over the Thunder to win the series 4-1.  Unfortunately, I have to give Miami credit because they stepped up big time on the biggest stage in basketball.  That was their best performance as a team that I've seen from the squad down in South Beach all season.  Stings that OKC was unable to hold the championship high this year, but they will be back soon enough and have their turn...you can bank on that.

I must give a lot of credit to LeBron this season. He actually matured a lot during the playoffs which was shocking and was more focused on getting the job done this year.  As painful as it to say...the better team won.  Ow... Well that's one championship that LeBron promised Miami; I think he has about 7 more to go.

And today is Friday!?! I don't think South Beach is going to survive this weekend with all the partying that's going down in celebration lol.

Fun times ahead for myself this weekend. Definitely going to enjoy mine; you better do the same. Hey, just looking out for ya. :)

Let's all have some fun this weekend...can't let have South Beach have all of it!

Cheers.

Ask me to play. I'll play.
Ask me to shoot. I'll shoot.
Ask me to pass. I'll pass.
Ask me to steal, block out, sacrifice, lead, dominate.
ANYTHING.

But it's not what you ask of me.
It's what I ask of myself.

Visualize the Unforeseeable.

What if you can't see yourself in a mirror anymore?

Picture that for a moment. It's something so small and simple but when you take that away from a person, their world suddenly goes into chaos. Just the ability to see yourself in a mirror; fully see you face, upper body, lower body, hands, feet.  And then all of a sudden...you can no longer do that.

It's the simple things like this that make me thankful every single day I walk on this rock.  Things might not be going my way or I even might be having a bad day...but yet, I still have things to my advantage that help my day go so much smoother.

The inability to see, the flaw of not being able to hear, a critical error in my movement.  Any of these rather "simple things" known in our society might be overlooked because we do it numerous times normally that we just tend to forget how lucky we really have to have the skills at our disposal.

So the next time you're having some rough goings during your day...pick yourself up, dust off the dirt, and keep it going.

Because you never know when that might by your last.

Our society takes for granted a lot of things until the day comes where those things start to get misplaced.

A New Week Appears! (On Tap 71)

One of my favorite pastimes...

Hey folks! Back here once again with another On Tap after a rather busy weekend for myself. Would like to wish any fathers that just happen to read this that I hope you had a fantastic Father's Day!

At the moment I'm just unwinding with the open road. Just driving around with my foot on the gas and some tunes being blasted out of my dash...board. Fun times. I enjoy hoping in my wheels and going from Point A to Point B on the regular basis but the fun doubles when I have no Point B to go to.

If there was a way that I could just drive around to random places AND not pay for gas just for giggles then I would make a career out of it. For serious.

Other things...M.E.R.C. is still going strong. Gonna weigh myself today to see how I'm going pound for pound and keep working my muscles until they can no longer go anymore. But yeah...definitely feeling better physically. Woot!

Enjoyed watching a couple of matches at EURO 2012. Happy to see Germany get to the Knockout stage of the tournament! Hopefully the good vibes and goals keep going their way all the way to the Cup Final! GO DEUTSCHLAND!!!

And of course the NBA Finals is still going strong...unfortunately Miami was able to make some home cooking and get the win over my Thunder to go up 2-1 in yet another close battle down in South Beach.  Sigh...here's to a turnaround in Game 4 for OKC!

With a new week of events starting...looking forward to each day. Might not be fully excited mentally due to  some stress over a few things but I'll shake that off soon enough and get what I need done completed.  Because I don't need no stress trying to stain my carpet with it's fruit juice! That was a rather detailed image...

Welcome to Monday peeps. Let's make it a great one...along with the rest of the week while we're at it.

:)

Friday is Here! (On Tap 70)

Friday!!! Yay!!!

Now unfortunately as an OKC fan it's bittersweet with the Miami Heat able to steal a win in Loud City to tie the series at 1 in the NBA Finals yesterday.  The game was entertaining, suspenseful, physical, emotional, and whole bag full of emotions; overall it was a great game of basketball on the TV last night.

If only the officiating was a little bit better...but even with that flaw on the floor both teams wanted to win.  Can't wait to see Game 3 in South Beach this Sunday!

Let's see. What else? Oh yeah! M.E.R.C. still warming up and doing it's thing...started to feel stronger in my biceps and hamstrings so that's a good start!

Along with a few work shifts here, starting summer classes there, and the random moments of fun on the daily basis...life's alright on my end.

So here's a toast to a great weekend for myself and for all of you out there. Go out there and enjoy it!

Cheers.

Some days you need to just unwind, have fun, and let things loose.  That's why God invented Fridays.

That's 1. (On Tap 69)

One game down...3 more to go.

*Spoiler Alert!* Oklahoma City kicked off the NBA Finals with a win as they defeated the Miami Heat in Game 1 in Loud City. Great job by those guys in OKC for a great win!

So that already has me in a VERY good mood to start the day. That and probably the overall excitement for Game 2 has me very hyper recently! Or it could be something in my cup of OJ this morning...

Other than that...M.E.R.C. is still going well for me. Preparing to go back in the gym later on to and Hooah! get bigger and Hooah! spend some energy and Hooah! try not cry....HOOAH!

And on that rather interesting image that I put in your head, I hope you have a great Wednesday, love yo faces, and of course...Thunder Up!!!

M.E.R.C. and NBA (On Tap 68)

I want to get stronger...hence why I created Project M.E.R.C.

M.E.R.C. is a new gym routine combined with the help of exercises suggested by one of my favorite health magazines, Men's Health, and my intake of food on the daily. This routine is planned for the next 4 weeks for myself and my goal is to build muscle and strength on my entire body and core.

After trying this yesterday at the local gym...oh my goodness this routine burns! So that means it's working because I can feel nearly every muscle in my body screaming profanities at me...and I wasn't even halfway done yet.

But I'm excited to see the results of this new project of mine and hopefully this will inspire some people out there to workout towards a brand new you!

Oh yeah...M.E.R.C. stands for Muscular Explosive Rotation of Chaos! I have no idea how I got that creative...

So that's my current agenda...that and watching Game 1 of the NBA Finals tonight! Thunder Up!!

Enjoy your Tuesday, love yo faces, and Go Thunder!

Oh Monday... (On Tap 67)

Monday is finally here and now it's the time to wake up and conquer our objectives!

Even if you don't have any and your main one is to sleep in for a few more hours...lucky one. Here's to today being awesome and that your week starts off with a bang!

Now I just got to find a shirt before stepping out the door. I don't care if it is 90 degrees this morning; no shirt, no service.

Mondays usually goes the slowest out of all the days of the week. So put some extra sugar in your glass and kick Monday's ass.

Here Comes the Weekend! (PicTivation)

The weekend is here. That's enough for me to cheer.
So make a beverage, have some fun, and kick back.
No struggles or worries so just relax.

Ahhhhhhhhh!

Thunder! (On Tap 66)

The Thunder are heading to the NBA Finals!!!

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is still buzzing with excitement as their young franchise did what critics and experts believed was impossible for a team full of young and inexperienced talent on a stage this big.  With the San Antonio Spurs leading 2-0 in the series, the Thunder had to dig deep in order to change the tide.

And did they ever.

Winning 4 straight games in the Western Conference Finals to clinch the West; that is mind-blowing.  Especially when they won Game 5 on the road at the AT&T Center to take the series lead 3-2 and headed back to Loud City to end it all in high fashion.  Now OKC can celebrate and relax for a little while as they await their opponent  from the East as the Celtics and Heat battle it out for the Eastern Conference Championship.

Looking at this young team mature throughout the Playoffs has been an absolute joy to watch.  It also shows that you can succeed as the underdog in life if you just work hard, don't lose focus on your objective, and believe that you can do it.

Now I gotta save some pennies to get one of those NBA Finals Thunder caps...

Today's quote for On Tap comes from Thunder head coach Scott Brooks. Who says that he has one of the best jobs on Earth; and I agree with him fully.

Congrats to OKC!
Thunder Up!!!

Multiple Ways to LOL! (PicTivation)

If there is one thing that I've learned...it's that laughing never gets old.

So Much Stuff...So Much More.

It's been a little bit since I've been on here...why you ask?

Well I've been occupied with a lot of things lately but here's what I've been up to via bullet points!

  • Work, work, and guess what? More work!
  • Playing around with some musical instruments
  • Attended two of my good friends' wedding extravaganza at a baseball stadium (Which was awesome!)
  • Went down to a river and learned how to evade snake attacks
  • Random driving trips up and down the road
  • Ran into a couple of former classmates (Both on the high school and college level)
  • Tried frog legs...taste nothing like chicken despite what experts think.
  • Attended a few sporting events and was mind blown.
  • The Heat choked again...and again. (Never Gets Old...)
  • The Thunder won 3 straight against the Spurs (Thunder Up!)
  • Hung out with some of my buddies where stupidity was at hand lol.
  • Created a Rock Band in Rock Band...and we're terrible on stage haha.

But yeah...I've been having loads of fun all around different aspects and activities the past couple of days.  Along with making some money working some shifts so I can do responsible thing and pay bills since I like things such as the Internet, food, and a comfortable bed to sleep indoors instead of outside of it.

Now I have returned to the Interwebs just in time for the Main Event of the Week....E3!!!

Also known as the Electronic Entertainment Expo being hosted in LA.
Yup, I'm a nerd. Get off my back...

Here's to everyone having yet another awesome week of awesomeness in store for you and I'll see you next time. Hopefully once I come up for air after I get all this gaming news and memorabilia from trying to suffocate my brain.

Bye everybody!
